ADMISSION TO THE ADVANCE DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM
Qualifications
To be considered for admission, applicants should:
- Have approximately 60 semester hours of transferrable credits from
regionally accredited schools, colleges, and universities. Students
short of 60 hours should contact us to arrange other evening or weekend
classes through our Saturday College, Associate of Arts, or our degree endorsement programs to earn the necessary hours. Credit is also available through Credit for Prior Learning, CLEP, and other out-of-classroom programs.
- Be at least 25 years of age.
- Have several years of work experience, community service, and/or program development responsibilities.
Requirements
Applicants must provide OVU with the following information to be considered for admission:
- Application for Admission
Submit a signed application to OVU.
- Official transcripts
Have official transcripts from each college or university attended sent to OVU.
- Interview
Prior to admission, applicants must schedule an appointment with
ADVANCE program academic
personnel to review their transcript assessment and discuss the use of prior learning credits.
- Payment Plan Worksheet
Submit a completed payment plan worksheet to OVU.
Academic requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in business
administration with a major in organizational management
A minimum of 128 semester hour credits consisting of at least:
- Organizational Management- 48 credits
- Humanities - 15 credits
- Social Sciences - 9 credits
- Math and Sciences - 12 credits
- Elective hours as needed to equal 128 credits
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
A student who transfers with an A.A. or A.S. from a regionally accredited institution will
be considered to have completed the general education requirements for the bachelor's degree.
Academic requirements for graduation
- Transferable Credits - 60
Approximately 60 transferable semester credits are required for admission. Students with less than 60 credits may be admitted if they have significant life experiences that can be translated into academic credit.
- Portfolio Assessment
Credits may be granted for prior experiential learning. See David Hamm, Associate Dean, for details.
- Non-Institutional Credits
Additional credits may be granted based on CLEP or other standardized testing programs.
- Organizational Management Curriculum - 48
The organizational management curriculum consists of 48 credits in management and related areas.
